How Battle Dice works โ€” the rules, the fees, and exactly where every token goes. If anything here doesn't match what you see in game, that's a bug: tell us.

Getting started

  • Play as guest โ€” one click creates a burner wallet in your browser. Free matches, quests, and XP all work. It lives in this browser only: clear your browser data and the account is gone forever. Don't keep anything you care about on it.
  • Connect a wallet (Phantom, Solflare, any wallet-standard wallet) โ€” sign one message to log in. No transaction, no fee, and we never see your keys. Required for wagered matches.
  • Create or join a battle from the lobby, pick your loadout, and the dice decide. Set a display name on your profile so you don't show up as a wallet address.

Game rules

Both players secretly pick a stance and optionally a modifier (blind loadout โ€” nobody sees the other's picks until the reveal). Then each rolls 1โ€“100. Highest final roll wins.

  • โš”๏ธ Aggressive โ€” All-out. If your natural roll beats 32, +12. If it doesn't, you overextend: โˆ’6. Spiky โ€” big highs, real whiffs.
  • โš–๏ธ Balanced โ€” Adaptive. Roll 20 or under and you reroll once (the new roll stands, good or bad). Steady.
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Defensive โ€” Bulwark. Rolls below 40 count as 40, and you win ties. Never blown out.
  • ๐Ÿ”ฅ Boost โ€” +6 to your final roll. Reliable power.
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Shield โ€” โˆ’6 to your opponent's final roll. Reliable denial.
  • โšก Jam โ€” 50% chance to nullify the opponent's modifier. The counter-read.
  • ๐ŸŽฒ Gambit โ€” roll two dice, keep the higher, โˆ’12 to your final roll. Rewards the bold โ€” pairs best with Aggressive.

Ties go to Defensive; if both or neither picked it, a coin flip decides (same secure server randomness as the rolls) โ€” never player order. And honestly: every stance and modifier is tuned to be worth close to the same expected value. Your loadout changes the shape of your odds โ€” spiky, steady, or safe โ€” not the size. The dice always have the final word.

Levels matter only in free matches (small roll bonus that grows with level). Wagered matches are pure dice + stance + modifier โ€” a level 1 and a level 50 fight on identical math. Money never buys an edge, and nothing sold here ever will.

Wagered matches & fees

  • Both players deposit the entry amount of GREM into a per-match escrow address before the battle starts. Your wallet signs the deposit โ€” we never hold your keys.
  • Winner receives the pot minus a 3% fee โ€” the only take there is. The fee is committed to a split: 2% of the pot accrues to the community redemption pool (the reserve that will back diamond โ†’ GREM redemption) and 1% funds operations โ€” transaction fees, infrastructure, development. Each leg is a separate transfer inside the payout transaction, which is linked on the results screen so you can audit both on-chain.
  • If a match never fills or your opponent doesn't deposit, the escrow auto-refunds in full after the timeout โ€” no rake on refunds, no support ticket needed.
  • Network costs: you pay only your own transaction fee (a fraction of a cent). Escrow account rent is fronted and reclaimed by the house โ€” not charged to players.
  • Current status: real GREM, early access. Wagers move real tokens. Bet limits are deliberately conservative while the system earns trust, and will be raised over time. Guest accounts cannot wager โ€” a real wallet is required.

Fairness & transparency

  • Rolls use cryptographically secure server-side randomness, resolved only after both loadouts are locked โ€” neither player nor house can see rolls early or influence them.
  • Every match stores a full resolution log (rolls, bonuses, modifier effects) shown on the results screen โ€” the math is checkable by hand.
  • The escrow is currently custodial: per-match addresses are derived from a server-held secret. That's honest-to-goodness trust in the operator until it moves to an on-chain escrow program (on the roadmap below) โ€” it's why bet caps exist and why we publish payout transactions.
  • The 3% fee is the only house take, and its split โ€” 2/3 community redemption pool, 1/3 operations โ€” is executed as separate on-chain transfers in every payout, so the commitment is auditable, not just a promise on this page.

Diamonds & quests

  • Daily quests award ๐Ÿ’Ž diamonds โ€” off-chain points tied to your account. A fresh set is drawn every day at midnight UTC (same quests for everyone), and higher levels unlock extra, harder quest slots: a Veteran quest at level 5 and an Elite quest at level 10, worth far more diamonds.
  • Today diamonds only accumulate. The plan โ€” not yet live, numbers not final โ€” is two uses: marketplace cosmetics (any player) and GREM rakeback (players whose wagers contributed to the rake pool). Details will be published here before anything goes live.
  • XP and levels come from free PvP matches โ€” win 25 XP, lose 5.
